Clients are welcome to work with a local catering company to bring your prepared meal to Pu’uwai Gardens for serving the event. Policies and parameters will be reviewed at the time of booking then venue.

At Pu’uwai Gardens there is a full Commercial Kitchen available for an additional daily rental fee. A catering company can work from this kitchen, or clients can prepared their own food to self-serve.

Our venue is located on the north eastern side of the Big Island of Hawai’i, near Waipi’o Valley. We are about 1 hour drive from Hilo Airport and 1.5 hour drive from Kona Airport. We are in a rural area, the nearest town of Honoka’a, a 15 minute drive away. Kamuela is the next nearest town, at around half an hour drive away.

For most days the weather is very tranquil tropical. Light trade winds from the ocean keep temperatures in a comfortable range of 70-80º F nearly year round. Summer months tend to be more dry and sunny, while winter months can bring chance of rain, although rain in the summer is always a possibility.

Use of this Pavilion, along with tables + chairs to seat 50 guests, is included in the venue rental package. The covered Bar Station adjacent to the Pavilion is also included and provides additional space for beverage service and/or buffet tables.
